CEFALÙ AND “LE VIE DEI TESORI”

Since autumn 2021, the municipality of Cefalù is included in the itinerary “Le Vie dei Tesori”. This initiative, born a few years ago in Palermo, allows islanders (and others) to discover artistic and cultural beauties that are often forgotten.

Cefalù has revealed the remains of the Hellenistic-Roman civilisation, still visible in the Cefalù archaeological site, and the Church “Chiesa della SS. Trinità” at San Domenico. Here you can admire the prehistoric stone extracted from the “Rocca di Cefalù”, the promontory that is said to have given its name to the town, since it resembles the shape of a head (in Greek: ‘Kephaloidion’).
